On the Menu for Friday: Easy Peasy Sausage Pizza

my finished product!
I am sorry, weekly menu, for neglecting you yet again; I promise to post all of my recipes this week.

Now that we got that outta the way...

Tonight, I am making sausage pizza pie!  YES!  Here is the Easy Peasy recipe:

1 bag of Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles
1 Pillsbury Ready Made Pizza Crust (snag a coupon here)
1 (6 oz) can of tomato paste
1 cup water
1/4 cup EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil - coupon also here)
2 cloves garlic, minced ( I used much more!)
Salt & Pepper to taste
1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
1/2 tablespoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1-2 Tablespoons flour
2 cups mozarella shredded cheese
1/2 cup colby jack shredded cheese

Mix together tomato paste, water, and olive oil.  Add garlic, S&P, oregano, basil, and rosemary.  Simmer for 15 minutes.  Add 1 tablespoon flour to bind the oil, water, tomato, and spices.  If flavors don't bind or sauce is not at desired thickness, add another tablespoon.  Spoon sauce evenly over pizza crust.

I like to do two layers of cheese, so I add 1 cup of mozarella and layer it evenly across the sauce.  Then add sausage (I will DEFINITELY use the whole bag - Steven is meat lover) and remainder of cheeses on top of sausage.  I also added chunks of chicken!

Bake according to the directions of pizza crust - read these ahead of time to save some trouble :)

Note: you can use whatever cheese you want and whatever meat you want, this is your meal!  If you feel like adding some veggies in there, do it!  If you don't feel like making a sauce, buy a tomato sauce (though I highly recommend homemade sauce).  Recipes should be used to your convenience and your liking.

YUMMALICIOUS!

  1. Changing up recipies is my thing! I made your brother pizza one night I think when he tried to fix my heat pump! I have a killer recipe for Thai Chicken pizza too :) This sausage pizza sounds good and I'll have to try that sauce.

  2. YUM! Thai Chicken. I would totally change my plans to make it a Thai Chicken pizza, but I have to use that sausage, haha! I have to give you a recipe I found in my slow cooker book for Thai Chicken. It was so delicious! What sauce would you use for a Thai Chicken Pizza?
